MAC 10® Control Systems

Introduction

Control options differ greatly depending on the application. MAC 10® Original units have a 3-speed switch or an optional variable speed controller which allows more precise airflow control. These are ideal for small quantities of units which are freely accessible in soft-wall and hard-wall clean rooms and customised LAF benches. Remote speed controllers can control groups of six MAC 10® units at one time, making this a more economical and suitable approach for plenum mounted FFUs. There is an increasing demand for more sophisticated control systems as end users seek to control their manufacturing environments more closely. Identifying each FFU and its operating parameters is important, in addition to alarms and set-back functions to reduce operating costs. These systems can be stand-alone but often need to interface with a Building Management System. Installing a ModBus® card on the MAC 10® Original, MAC 10 IQ and MAC 10 LE-DC allows them to operate in a network and their parameters can be controlled and monitored via a range of Console and PLCs.
